Every one meet Su, short for Sushi, but we’ll call her Susan when she’s being naughty.
Ozzie found Su late at night, around 10:30pm, near a very busy street. He was going out to pick up take out sushi, when as he was driving he heard barking. He slowed down and started to look around to see where it was coming from. That’s when he found Su. She was wondering aimlessly, and very scared. We actually found footage of her almost getting hit by a car. We are so grateful she decided to turn away. We tried to lure her in with food. It took a while to gain her trust but she finally came closer and we were able to reach her leash. Our first thought was that she must have gotten away from her owner since she was still wearing her full leash. So we immediately got her microchip scanned and received her owners information right away. We were so happy that by 11:45pm we already had their info and we couldn’t wait to tell them we had their pup, that she was safe and ready to go back home. Her registered owner did answer the phone and told us he had no interest in her and did not want her back. We were heartbroken for her. We couldn’t believe how harsh they were and did not even care to know if she was ok or how we found her. But we are thankful that she made her way to us at the perfect time. We found Su the same day we announced our Best Chance program. Thanks to Su we were able to get the program started sooner than expected.
Su will be with Mirror Image K9 for the next 30 days. She’ll learn all the basic skills and coping mechanisms she’ll be using the rest of her life. After that, she’ll go into her forever home! So far Su has done great with the other dog. She’s wonderful in the crate and learning leash skills. She is such a good girl and so sweet.
