Bunter’s Story
Once upon a time, in a quiet town called Cobbtown, there lived a little dog named Bunter.
Bunter didn’t have a family. He didn’t have a warm bed or a bowl with his name on it. Instead, he wandered through fields and backroads, looking for scraps and sleeping under the stars. But Bunter was brave. And kind. And full of heart.
He had a small group of dog friends who were also living the stray life, and together, they watched each other’s backs. On rainy nights, they huddled together under old sheds. On hot days, they searched for shady spots to rest. And even though they didn’t have homes, they had each other.
One day, everything changed.
Bunter wandered into a barn, tired, hungry, and unsure. But this barn was different. This barn belonged to a woman named Donna with a big heart and a soft voice. She saw Bunter and smiled. He wasn’t so sure about her, but she brought treats and sat nearby, letting him come close on his own time.
Day by day, Bunter got braver. He let her pet his head. He let her clip a leash on. And before he knew it, he was on his way to the vet, a little scared, but ready for a new beginning.
The kind people at the clinic took care of him. They cleaned him up, checked his health, and made sure he was safe. And for the first time in his life, Bunter felt like someone really cared.
Then came his foster home, a place with toys and treats and soft beds and something he’d never had before: a friend named Sandy. Sandy was also a rescue, and she showed Bunter how to play, how to trust, and how to enjoy being a dog.
Every day, Bunter goes to doggy school at Mirror Image K9 Camp. He learns how to walk on leash, how to play nicely, how to be confident and he’s really, really good at it.
But Bunter has a secret.
Every afternoon, he watches his friends get picked up by their forever families. He sees the wagging tails, the happy hugs, the drive-home cuddles. And even though he’s so grateful for his foster family, he wonders…
When will it be my turn?
Bunter is ready. He’s sweet, smart, gentle, and oh-so-loyal. He’s been patient. He’s done the work. Now all he needs is someone to say,
“Come home, Bunter. You’re ours.”
Will you be the happy ending to Bunter’s story?
